The FOGES project – Fostering Gender Education in Sports Staff – promotes gender equity in the sports sector through training and awareness-raising initiatives aimed at sports coaches, educational staff, and professionals in the field.
In line with the 2030 Agenda, it integrates gender education programs into both initial and ongoing training and promotes sports environments that are fair, respectful, and safe, making sports accessible to everyone.
The FOGES project (Fostering Gender Education in Sports Staff) aims to improve gender equity in sports through targeted education and awareness initiatives directed at educational staff, coaches, and physical education teachers. It contributes to the 2030 Agenda goals for gender equality by integrating principles of equity, respect, and violence prevention into educational and sports environments.
It does so through:
Raising awareness on gender equity in sports, with educational materials and training for sports staff;
Promoting inclusion and diversity, through guidelines and best practices for equitable sports environments;
Integrating gender education into initial and ongoing training for sports educational staff.
The ultimate goal is a sports landscape that is more equitable, inclusive, and accessible for everyone.
