Edufin ci rende libere

The project Edufin ci rende libere aims to combat economic violence against women by promoting a culture of financial education as a tool for prevention and self-determination. Involving around 600 women in vulnerable situations across six Italian regions, it provides knowledge and practical tools to manage personal resources and make informed financial decisions.

Economic violence is recognized by the Istanbul Convention as one of the forms of gender-based violence, and financial education is a key tool for overcoming stereotypes and inequalities.

The project, carried out in collaboration with Alleanza Assicurazioni and delivered by Alleanza insurance consultants registered with the AEIF, involves the training of around 600 vulnerable women across six Italian regions (Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio, Apulia, and Sicily) through:

  • Training and informational meetings on financial education;

  • Sharing practical knowledge on savings, credit, and financial instruments;

  • Strengthening independent decision-making skills;

  • Collaboration with local organizations and associations;

  • Awareness-raising on economic rights and support for women’s empowerment.

“I have always been used to saving to help my parents or to buy something for my children, but I never considered saving money to buy something for myself that would make me feel good! Thanks to the meetings we attend, I have realized that to make the people I love happy, it is important that I take care not only of them but also of myself, occasionally treating myself to a little indulgence! I will start using this family budget and think about what to include in the ‘well-being purchases’ category!”
